    Garlic Honey Brussels Sprouts Recipe

November 20, 2020 by Veronica Victoria Wellness

    Garlic Honey Brussels Sprouts Recipe

Brussels sprouts definitely get the short end of the stick, especially with kids. They look like little cabbages and let’s face it, don’t always smell the best when cooking. I sure am glad to have gotten over that stage though since brussels sprouts are so delicious and make the perfect side dish. And if you’re still not convinced, this Garlic Honey Brussels Sprouts recipe will hopefully change your mind.

I always make brussels sprouts for Thanksgiving since I am all about the sides and this year I wanted to challenge myself to make something new. I love the idea of a hot honey sauce but I didn’t want to use hot sauce. Instead I decided to mix honey, walnut oil, fresh garlic and red pepper flakes. I was so pleased with the result I will definitely be repeating this on Thanksgiving!

See below for full recipe and check out more Thanksgiving side recipes here!

    INGREDIENTS

Brussels Sprouts (1 pack or about 2 cups)
    Honey (2 tbsp)
Walnut (or Olive) Oil (1 tbsp)
    Garlic (1 clove, pressed)
    Red Pepper Flakes
    Parmesan (shredded, 2 tbsp)
    Hazelnuts (3 tbsp, crushed)

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Preheat oven to 400F and line baking pan with parchment paper.
    2. Wash and cut brussels sprouts in half.
    3. Bring a pot of water to a boil and add brussels sprouts, cook for about 5 minutes.
    4. Drain brussels sprouts and add to baking pan.
    5. Mix honey, oil, garlic and red pepper in a pan and heat on low for 3 minutes. You do this to soften the honey and mix the ingredients together.
    6. Next drizzle mixture over brussels sprouts and mix to make sure they are coated well.
    7. Bake for 15 minutes and then sprinkle parmesan cheese and hazelnuts and broil for another 5.
    8. Enjoy!

HEALTH TIP 22 ⚡️⚡️ HELP FOR HEADACHES- WHI HEALTH TIP 22 ⚡️⚡️ HELP FOR HEADACHES- WHITE WILLOW BARK DROPS

I used to get headaches all the time but since I started eating intuitively and paying attention to my body (listening when it needs rest, feeding it supplements that it needs and avoiding foods that don’t make me feel good), my headaches are very rare!
On the occasion that I do get one, I wanted to something that was natural so I gave White Willow Bark drops a try about a year ago. I was shocked they worked!!
I keep a bottle in the house and then take one with me in my bag when I’m out of the house or for traveling.

The details!
•white willow bark contains salicin, which is a chemical similar to aspirin
•the herb itself has anti-inflammatory compounds
•in combination it provides pain relief and anti-inflammatory effects

One of the most dreaded workouts but there are so many variations and I always say to listen to your body and what you can handle!

I wasn’t going to post this video because I didn’t like how it came out with the seaweed in the front. But then I remembered that just like I had to step over the seaweed to get to the beautiful ocean, life isn’t perfect and you will have moments that aren’t easy and that you need to step through to get to the beauty. And you will, have faith. 🤍
