Super Blueberry Smoothie
I decided to call this delicious drink a “super” blueberry smoothie because it includes all types of superfoods to get you started for the day!
This drink includes blueberries, maca, mct oil and so many other goodies. Blueberries are naturally superfoods due to the fact that they are packed with antioxidants, potassium and vitamin C. Maca is a plant native to Peru and known for improving energy, stamina and actually your sex drive and fertility! The smoothie also includes chia seeds which are packed with antioxidants, fiber and omega-3 fatty acids.
If you haven’t had maca yet I would suggest purchasing a powder organic form such as this one. Maca adds a unique taste to the smoothie, it’s hard to describe but it almost makes it taste like a nut butter was added which to me is delicious!
Another great addition to this smoothie is the added fiber. There are 3 powder forms that I like to use- fiber from konjac root aka glucomannan, inulin or organic psyllium husk (buy in powder form or blend down). All these are natural ways to get an added intake of fiber and will make your smoothie thicker and keep you full longer.
So let’s get started!
INGREDIENTS
Organic Blueberries, frozen or fresh (1 cup)
Coconut Water fresh or no sugar added (1/4 cup)
Maca Powder (1 tsp)
MCT Oil (1 tsp)
Chia seeds (1 tsp)
Flax seeds (1 tsp)
Fiber Powder (options- konjac root, organic psyllium husk, inulin) (1 tsp)
INSTRUCTIONS
Blend everything well!
