What are Superfoods?
You’ve heard me talk about superfoods before here, but let’s go in depth and answer, what are superfoods?
Superfoods, to put it simply, are nutritionally dense foods. They are mostly plants foods but some can be dairy and fish. They don’t have their own food group (unfortunately) but that doesn’t mean that science hasn’t been used to back these claims up. These are foods that contain so many vitamins and nutrients that they can positively affect your health.
Superfoods generally contain a large amount of the following- antioxidants, nutrients, healthy fats, minerals, enzymes and fiber. Adding these to your daily nutritional intake can aid in preventing cancer, heart disease, digestive problems, weight loss, increased energy levels and more.
